Volunteer Saskatoon offers numerous workshops and learning events that will support and enhance your organization's work.  They are open to everyone: staff, board members, volunteers and interested community citizens.  Workshop details, fees, policies and registration information are included in the links below.

Peer Learning Circle for Volunteer Mangers

Conversations In The Sandbox

In collaboration with Leadership Saskatoon, we meet over the lunch hour to connect, network and learn from each other on a monthly basis.  Join us on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 to learn more with Winston Blake on the topic of 'RAP Restorative Justice Program'.  See poster for details.

Volunteer Management Training – Level 2 Leadership Skills

Volunteer Saskatoon is pleased to host this great three day training for volunteer coordinators, managers or anyone who oversees volunteer involvement in your organization.  Training will take place in Saskatoon on May 28 – 30, 2012 and will be delivered by Barb Gemmell, CAVR, of Volunteer Manitoba& in association with Red River College, Winnipeg.

Prerequisite: Volunteer Management Introduction (Level 1) or Working with Volunteers – Red River College Certificate Course. This course can be used as part of the 30 hours of Volunteer Manitoba training that is allowed towards the electives in the Red River College Certificate Course.

EXTERNAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteer Saskatoon is pleased to suggest a wide variety of learning opportunities from various sources in the sector. 

The W's of Accountability

Presented by PLEA and Charity Central on February 22, 2012.  This workshop will explore accountability issues of registered charities to stakeholders.  It will emphasize both federal and provincial legal accountability in the areas of reporting, maintaining books and records, issuing donation receipts, fundraising and other requirements.  See poster for details.

Ten Steps to Creating Safe Environments for Children & Youth Workshop

Presented by the Canadian Red Cross RespectED Program on Friday, June 22, 2012.  This workshop is a comprehensive road map or risk management strategy that supports organizations in a step-by-step process to address violence.  This two-day workshop will give your organization's decision makers the tools to develop, implement, and monitor risk management strategies within your organization to help keep personnel and participants safe from violence, abuse and harassment.  See poster for details.
