Why Volunteer Together as a FAMILY?

In our fast-paced society it is not always easy to spend quality time together as a family. When families volunteer together they are able to spend uninterrupted time together and they also have the privilege of making a difference in other people’s lives.

Families volunteer because:

Family ties are strengthened.
Allows family time and makes family time valuable.
Communication in families is strengthened.
Families can work together to reach a common goal
Families can learn to appreciate cultural and social differences
New values such as kindness, teamwork, and respect are learned.
Family members can learn new skills and increase confidence.

Families should consider:

Who is going to volunteer? (Immediate family members, extended family members, friends, etc.)
How often and when can members make time to volunteer as a family?
What type of volunteering does the family want to participate in?

Does your family agree with the mission or mandate of the organization?
