1. Through your local volunteer centre like Volunteer Saskatoon.  Many volunteer centres post volunteer opportunities on-line. These posting include the contact information, time commitments required, skills needed, and volunteer job descriptions of each opportunity. Be sure to visit our Volunteer Opportunities Posting Board located in the foyer of the Saskatoon Community Service Village or contact us
2. Through schools and other educational institutions.  Some schools post opportunities on their bulletin boards.  Teachers and career cousellors can also help you attain a volunteer position.
3. Through newspapers, radio stations, and T.V. stations.  Newspapers may designate a certain area to volunteer opportunities.  Stations may also broadcast volunteer opportunities for events or for organizations.
4. Through family and friends.  The people close to you may already volunteer, they may know of people who volunteer, or they may know of places where there are volunteer opportunities. 
5. At a special event or community event. If you are having fun at an event or are touched by a cause, ask how you can be involved. 
6. At a community-based or not-for-profit organization.  Visit the Volunteer Saskatoon membership listing which includes many organizations in Saskatoon and area
7. Through the internet.  If you are interested in a particular organization you can often find their volunteer opportunities right on their website.
