- Through schools and other educational institutions. Some schools post opportunities on their bulletin boards. Teachers and career cousellors can also help you attain a volunteer position.
- Through newspapers, radio stations, and T.V. stations. Newspapers may designate a certain area to volunteer opportunities. Stations may also broadcast volunteer opportunities for events or for organizations.
- Through family and friends. The people close to you may already volunteer, they may know of people who volunteer, or they may know of places where there are volunteer opportunities.
- At a special event or community event. If you are having fun at an event or are touched by a cause, ask how you can be involved.
